

Creative Curators: Dystopian Fiction
Today I delivered the final session of the Creative Curators project @ Stoke Newington School with Year 9 students. Last week saw the students providing objects as a stimuli for starting a story which we crafted together in the classroom. I kicked off a new story-making workshop for primaries last week with a bespoke workshop for Jubilee Primary School in Stoke Newington. I'll be adding it to the canon soon as I found it an incredibly effective way to teach story structure to younger children in an exciting, enthusing way. Watch this space! Curative Curators @ Stokey School
So Thursday got off to a fine start with the beginning of the Creative Curators project @ Stoke Newington school. I worked with two Year 9 English groups, using objects as a stimulus to create stories relating to the genre of Dystopian Fiction. Which was lucky as I LOVE Dystopian Fiction... The students brought objects relating to the theme of 'home' which I used to begin a story... 2 hours later and we had two separate stories created in collaboration with the young people.

First book in print!
So excited to see my first ever book in print. Published by the National Trust ,The Story of The Breaker Makers is illustrated by the marvellously-talented Jade Wheaton and tells the story of Hackney Historical home Sutton House's 'Breaker's Yard'.
